Biography
Dr. Priyadi Kardono is a chairman of Geospatial Information Agency/Badan Informasi Geospasial (from 2014). He holds a PhD on Remote Sensing from St. Andrews University, United Kingdom. He made significant contributions during his career at National Agency for Disaster Management (BNPB) as Head of Data , Information and Public Relations.
Dr. Priyadi Kardono has extensive knowledge and a wide range of ideas about the future role of BIG. Under his leadership, BIG would try to provide the best, especially in the provision of geospatial information to support One Map Policy and Nawacita. Abstract
Role of One Map Policy to support the National Economic Growth
In order to increase the national economic growth, the government of Indonesia issued further measures under Economic Policy Package VIII. One of the strategic measure is the One Map Policy (KSP) through the issuance of Presidential Decree No. 9/2016 on the Acceleration of the Implementation of One Map Policy in Level of Accuracy Map with Scale 1: 50,000.
The main purpose of this decree is to solve national strategic issues such as forest fire, spatial planning issues, overlap licences, peatland management, and natural resource management. For this reason, the one map policy, which is built on a single geospatial reference, one standard, one database, and one geoportal, has become a key government priority.
Geospatial Information Authority of Indonesia (Badan Informasi Geospasial - BIG) as a regulator, executor, and coordinator in the administration of geospatial information in Indonesia in accordance with the mandate of Law No. 4 Year 2011 on Geospatial Information is responsible to provide the basic maps. Therefore, BIG is already share all the basic map of Indonesia (Rupabumi Indonesia ? RBI) with scale 1:50,000 as a basis for 19 ministries and government institutions to prepare more than 85 thematic maps on a 1: 50,000 scale under their individual action plans before a deadline set for the end of 2019.
This presentation will highlight the strategies to achieved the targets which already set in the end of 2019.
