Spatial Analytics in the Era of Cognitive Computing - and how Weather Data makes a Difference
Connectivity is the name of the game, with an estimated 50 billion connected devices by 2025. Some suggest that it could even be a trillion connected devices within 10 years, having major implication on industries and existing business models. McKinsey estimate that the Internet of Things has a total potential economic impact of $3.9 trillion to $11.1 trillion per year in 2025. In this context, this presentation will review the convergence of analytics and location, in the context of ?Cognitive Analytics? and discuss different use cases ranging from insurance to farming to transportation. Additionally the session will also discuss the recent acquisition by IBM of ?The Weather Company?, who create 11 billion weather forecasts each day, the topic of integration of weather data into spatial analytics, and the principles of ?Insight as a Service?. Aimed at the generalist rather than the technical architect, this session will also describe a typical ecosystem and implementation plan.
