NATHAN Mobile: Munich Re?s proven natural hazard risk-assessment platform. NATHAN Risk Suite is now accessible via Smartphone and tablet computer. For the first time ever, risk inspectors can realistically assess nat-cat risks onsite and in real time. Users either enter the address of the insured property or simply utilise their mobile device?s GPS function onsite to identify the precise location. The different relevant hazard zones appear on a superimposed map marked in colour. The overall risk score is highlighted to give a quick overview of the severity level of the local hazards. Reports can be e-mailed to the insurance underwriter directly from the application. A further innovation within NATHAN Risk Suite is the Munich Re Global Flood Maps. The function sets a new standard for consistent flood risk assessment and accumulation management on a global scale, including the many flood-exposed regions throughout Asia. The Global Flood Maps show flood zones based on a digital terrain model with a resolution of 30 metres with return periods of up to 500 years. Previously, nat-cat modelling based on a 100-metre resolution was the greatest level of detail available to the insurance industry. The innovative function Portfolio Risk Assessment Report was also launched in 2014. It gives NATHAN users a vivid illustration of a given portfolio?s exposure at the touch of a button, by combining the natural hazard zone system with the insurance values of the risk locations.
