Biography
Ravi heads the Geospatial Lab at IIHS and looks after Research, Consulting and Capacity development engagements. He has extensive experience in medium to large Enterprise GIS projects implementation comprising of multidisciplinary teams of professionals in engagement with professional, academic, research, government and multi-lateral funding institutions. He has experience in Enterprise GIS implementation, worked in projects related to City planning, Urban Security, Land Management, Urban Utilities, State welfare and Web GIS developments.Abstract
Geospatial Platform for Slum Information Management and AnalyticsThe project is about an innovative approach to store, analyze and publish city's slum information on a Web GIS platform that is designed and developed to provide spatial insights on basic facilities and environmental conditions at the slum settlement level. Access to potable water, schools & health facilities, housing typology, occupancy status and many more such indicators are spatially visualized on this platform. The spatial insights provided by this platform are required by city managers to adequately plan for financial and human resources that will be helpful in upgradation of slum settlements.
