Biography Eng. Abdulla Mohamed Al Khaddiem graduated from Towson State University (U.S.A) in Environmental Planning in 1996. He started working in Fujairah Municipality since 1997. He is Director of Projects. He has attended many conferences (including Geospatial and ESRI conferences) and technical meetings in and outside U.A.E. Presently he is looking after the Rail Project in the Fujairah Emirate, Mohamed Bin Zayed City in Fujairah and Geospatial Technology projects.Abstract Geospatial Initiatives by Fujairah Municipality in UAEFujairah is one of the seven Emirates comprising of United Arab Emirates (U.A.E). The other six Emirates are Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Ajman and Umm Al Quwain. Fujairah Municipality started to implement GIS since 1994 but in stages. Initially infrastructure for GIS was created by acquiring Orthomaps, Line Mapping and Satellite Imagery with necessary hardware & software. As part of our continuous effort to keep pace with technological advances in the government sector, Fujairah has taken several initiatives to achieve Excellence in Municipal work. One such initiative is to use Geospatial Technology for Municipal services & work. Due to this in 2013, all towns & villages under Fujairah Emirate has been mapped again and administrative boundaries for each town & village has been fixed and a series of automation tools were developed and necessary hardware & software were upgraded. In 2014, Fujairah Emirate has been covered with Virtual Reference Station (VRS). This presentation will describe various projects which has been carried out as part of Geospatial Initiatives so as to fulfill the mission towards the citizens of Fujairah. The presentation will cover: my plot location (mobile application), automation of data center, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed City (creation of new smart city) and Fujairah 2040 (smart plan).
