WORKSHOP BY GEOSPATIAL MEDIA AND COMMUNICATIONS

BACKGROUND
The workshop on "Geospatial Infrastructure and Standards for Autonomous Vehicles" has been designed to explore into the relationship between the self-driving car and geo-information. It will explore the framework of the (geo) data-infrastructure and determine what is needed to support the transition to the self-driving car.
The purpose of this exploration is to determine what geographic information government bodies, companies and research institutes need, to enable them to conduct experiments with self-driving cars, and then to identify to what extent the current availability and accessibility of national and local geo-information services are meeting these needs.
Workshop Format
To demonstrate the new innovations and developments of the Dutch National SDI called PDOK. These are developed recently or still under construction but are open source, so of benefit for the SDI community.
- The workshop will be discussion-oriented (without presentation slides). This will ensure optimum value of the time by discussing relevant questions
- The workshop will start with the presentation of the draft document which has been already prepared for the participants for further discussion
- The workshop will target to have the discussion oriented towards subjects like sensors, standards, content, GNSS and Policy Infrastructure and other related aspects

- Data infrastructure related
- App development organizations
