Data Harmonisation and Transformation
Wednesday, 27 May 2015, 0900 – 1030 hrs
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
This workshop should gather people that deal with INSPIRE and people involved in data management related to the European environmental legislation implementation. During the session we will demonstrate how to transform source data to an INSPIRE complaint GML file using the HUMBOLDT Alignment Editor. The process of harmonization includes use of the UML, GML application schemas, INSPIRE code lists, INSPIRE registry, feature catalogs, mapping tables, etc.
The process will be presented on the one example (using the INSPIRE model for the Protected sites), using spatial data extracted from the publicly available Common Database on Designated Areas. The participants will be asked to use their own lap-tops with the HUMBOLDT Alignment Editor already installed and develop INSPIRE compliant GML file and harmonization process that can be executed and used after workshop. Participants can used source file provided within the workshop, but if possible, participants previously should extract from Common Database on Designated Areas, source spatial data set of their interest (local, national or regional spatial data set).
TARGET AUDIENCE
- People from public sector/private companies involved in the INSPIRE Directive 2007/2/EC implementation.
- People from public sector/private companies involved in the implementation of the European environmental legislation.
- Participants of the INPSPIRE pilot projects initiated by Joint Research Centre
- Everyone interested in INSPIRE harmonization process
WORKSHOP REQUIREMENTS
- Elementary knowledge on the INSPIRE or combing harmonization workshop with INSPIRE training sessions (Introduction to INSPIRE and LINKVIT workshops)
- Participants should bring their own laptops with the HUMBOLDT Alignment Editor already installed. http://www.esdi-community.eu/projects/hale
