LIS for Smart Cities

Geospatial Media and UN Economic Commissions for Europe (UNECE) are pleased to bring together a two-day Discussion and Dialogue Forum on Land Information Systems (LIS) for Smart Cities, which will bring out some significant ways that LIS feeds into creating smart cities and the resultant benefits gained by local authorities.

• To showcase some advanced examples of LIS laying sound foundation for functioning of smart cities
• To share information on the gamut of software, services and technologies available for developing sound LIS and an integrated Smart City
• Bring out some success stories of City Management authorities elaborating their experience of on successful implementation of Smart City concept
• To understand and help land management professionals from transition nations to share some of the challenges they face in establishing Land Information Systems and integrating LIS for functioning as a Smart City
• To brainstorm on future roadmap for transition countries with regards to effective and modern land management practices and Smart City establishment.
