With increasing challenges like increasing urban population, traffic, waste management, illegal constructions etc, the need for efficient city management becomes all the more important. Geospatial technologies are playing a crucial role in managing the lifelines of the city and empowering the decision making ability of the municipalities and policy making authorities to better manage the city.

This theme will focus on:

• Integrated services to government, business and local users
• Applications to empower emergency managers
• Importance of SDIs for local governance
• Challenges experienced in using geospatial for city management
