The theme will:

• Present several existing initiatives of National Mapping Agencies to extend their 2D mapping activities into 3D
• Discuss the benefits and barriers to the construction and provision of 3D geospatial data and related services by NMCAs
• Focus on the research that is currently conducted within EuroSDR to solve these barriers
• Present future research requirements
