Right now many thousands of individual pieces of
technology are gathering earth observations around
the globe. They are demonstrating their value in
estimating crop yields, monitoring water and air quality,
and improving airline safety. The challenge is to
connect the scientific dots to build a system of systems
that will yield the science on which sound policy must
be built. International initiatives such as the Global
Earth Observation System are making significant
progress towards providing resources for the access,
discovery, processing, and publishing of earth
observation data. The symposium will aim at creating
discussion forums on Earth Observation Systems and
focus on various policies pertaining to the same.
The symposium will cover the following:
Technology Trends in Earth Observation Systems
Utility and Applications of Earth Observation
Systems for Sustainable Development
Commercialization of Remote Sensing Industry
Earth Observation Programmes - National
Perspective
Interoperability between Earth Observation systems
