Abstract How the ArcGIS Platform for Land Administration can Drive EconomiesOnly 20-25% of the worlds nations have complete and well-functioning land information systems. Land information systems are critical to supporting the implementation of land-related laws and policies. An effective land information system supports key government functions such as documenting and securing land rights, determining land values, planning land use, and informing land development. It also contributes to sustainable land management and key initiatives such as Smart Cities and e-Government. Land information systems are therefore fundamental to supporting a well-functioning market economy, social justice, and good governance within a nation.
In this presentation, the ArcGIS platform for Land Administration will be introduced, including its capabilities related to the collection, management and sharing of land administration information, including ownership, value, planning and use. Through the ArcGIS platform, land administration organizations can leverage these collective capabilities to promote economic growth within local economies.
