BiographyDr Narayan Panigrahi, leads the Geographic Information System Group in CAIR, where he led a team of scientists towards successful design, development and implementation of indigenous Geographic Information System (INDIGIS). The GIS technology has been developed to achieve self reliance and guard against technological denial regime. The system has been installed in various Laboratories of DRDO user projects. Dr Narayan Panigrahi has pursued the scientific basis of the subject “Geographical Information System (GIS)”, over a decade through design and development of GIS systems for armed forces. He has been engaged in educating the armed forces in the field through various field training programs, Continuation of Education Programs (CEP) and lecturers. He has organized five CEPs to popularize and disseminate the scientific aspect of GIS and spatio-temporal information systems among the scientists and users within DRDO laboratories.
