Detailed description of workshop

ENERGIC-OD (European NEtwork for Redistributing Geospatial Information to user Communities - Open Data) is a Competitiveness and Innovation framework Programme (CIP ICT PSP) project funded by the European Commission. It is three years in duration and has 16 partner institutions in five different EU countries. Our goal is to implement an innovative broker architecture to enable exploitation of geospatial information by European firms and institutions. We want to lower the barriers of entry for businesses wishing to develop new applications. We believe that ENERGIC-OD is an exciting opportunity to create new businesses and facilitate access to geospatial data, and we would like to invite you to help us improve it!

The goal of our workshop is to identify IT and business opportunities that can be exploited by firms of all sizes throughout Europe in the wake of ENERGIC-OD. We will ask you to describe your current needs in the geospatial data access space, and how they are met by existing solutions (or what would be the ideal solutions to meet those needs). You will be invited to join the Expert Community advising the project consortium, tackling both software engineering and business development challenges.

The workshop will be also attended by software engineering and business development experts currently working on ENERGIC-OD. The participants of the workshop will discuss ENERGIC-OD's technology and business solutions, and contribute to their enhancement and development.
